Woman suffers severe burns in RV propane tank explosion in Darke County

Crews were called to a report of a camper fire involving a propane tank that exploded Thursday afternoon near Greenville.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. in the 3900 block of Hahn Road in Franklin Twp.

The Gettysburg Rural Fire Department rescued a woman from inside the approximately 25-foot pull-type recreational vehicle.

She suffered burns to approximately 60% of her body and was flown from the scene by CareFlight, according to the fire department.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
